The hot water temperature in most homes is set too high. Not only does this waste energy but it can also be a scalding safety hazard. This simple card allows you to quickly check the water temperature. Here's what you do.
The color coded bar at the bottom will display the water temperature number. Use the following guide.
Number Colour Temp
120 Green =120F (48C)
120 Blue 121F (48C) -125F(51C)
130 Tan 125F(51C) - 129F(53C)
130 Green =130F (54C)
130 Blue >130F (54C)
150 Red 150F(65C) or greater
120F (48C) or lower is perfect. Nothing to do here!
130F (54C) or lower. You might want to experiment with lower temperatures.
130F(54C) or greater. You're definitely missing an opportunity to save some bucks!
